P L A N   D E T A I L S

COVERAGE
For 3 years from the date of delivery, Smithe will make a total of up to 3 repairs per item if any of the following occur:
WOOD FURNITURE

Dents, Scratches &  Gouges

Liquid Rings from Beverage Glasses

Burn marks
Caused by brief contact with flame or heat.

Human & Pet Bodily Fluid Stains

Structural Wood Breakage

Glass Chipping & Breakage

Wood Panel Breakage

Food Stains

FABRIC AND LEATHER UPHOLSTERY*

Rips

Burn Marks
Caused by brief contact with flame or heat.

Punctures

Cuts

REPAIR PROCEDURES

    1. Damage must be reported to Smithe within 2 days.   
    2. A service technician will repair most damage in the home at no charge.
    3. If an item cannot be repaired, part or all of it will be replaced.

Maximum 3 repairs per item. Replacement is made at Smithe’s sole discretion and ends coverage.  Replacement pieces are not eligible for SMITHE GUARD® coverage.  Substitutions may need to be made if the original piece is no longer available. The value of the replacement item is limited to the original purchase price. A perfect repair cannot always be guaranteed, and minor evidence of a repair may be visible upon close inspection.

EXCLUSIONS
No coverage provided for issues not listed above, or when issue is not reported within 2 days. No coverage for issues resulting from abuse (repetitive or excessive damage); aging; wear and tear; accumulation; multiple damages; unidentified damages, damage not attended to properly, damage during a household move; commercial use; unauthorized maintenance or repair; dyes; caustic solutions; bleach; pet claws, beaks or teeth; odors, fire, flood, rust, water damage other than beverage spills; failure to follow care instructions; damage or stains of unknown origin.  

No coverage for normal effects of aging, including fading, nicks, dents and scuffs that occur with normal use over time.

*Not available for sale on clearance items sold as is, reupholstery jobs, certain wood furniture,  rugs, carpets, suede, silk or other delicate fabrics.  Smithe reserves the right to deny the sale of Smithe guard protection or deny coverage and refund the purchase price.  No coverage is provided for loss of use during repair. 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Clients living outside 100 miles from the nearest Smithe showroom are responsible for additional service transport costs. Repair and replacement are limited to the damaged item only. No adjustments will be made due to dye lot or wood stain variations that result in mismatches with other furniture or decorating in the room.  Substitutions may be made if original item is no longer available.  At Smithe’s discretion, a percentage refund of the Protection Plan fee may be available in lieu of replacement.  Such payments end plan coverage. This plan is non- renewable. Coverage is limited to items listed on the sales order. Smithe Guard® protection is valid to original purchaser only.
